Abbey Walsh
Instructor
Abbey Walsh found her passion in the dance world, kickstarting a journey that has spanned 18 years and counting. Born and raised in Sarasota, Florida, she found an early affection for ballet and tap dancing. Along with these dances, she has trained and performed in jazz, flamenco, and Scottish highland dancing.
At the age of 10, Abbey joined the International Ballet of Florida to learn the Vaganova methods of ballet training. Training in ballet and pointe work, her Ukrainian teachers taught discipline and strength across ballet repertoire. Over Abbey’s seven years at the dance school, she has performed alongside the Russian Orlando Ballet as a lead ballet dancer in original and classic ballets.
Once transitioning to ballroom dancing, the smooth and Latin styles of dancing captured Abbey’s heart. Competing in Pro/Am A1 Smooth Gold, she continues to train and perform alongside the members of the Dance It Studio family.
Outside the realm of dance, Abbey is graduating in the fall of 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. At the Rosen College of Hospitality Management, she has accepted a certification in Entertainment Management and a minor in Hospitality Management.
